A dwarf catmint with slender spikes of lavender-blue summer flowers and aromatic, grey-green leaves. This perennial forms clumps with drifts of hazy blue flowers throughout the summer and is an ideal edging plant for borders on the edge of paths. It is versatile plant which combines well with lime greens of Euphorbia, Origanum and Alchemilla, the white flowers of Rosa Kent and mauve pink of Geranium sanguine to name but a few of the many good companions of the this plant. Nepeta faassennii is also very attractive to bees.
Common Name: Catmint
Exposure: Full sun
Soil type: Well-drained/light, dry soils are best.
Cut back after first flush of flowering to encourage fresh growth from the base which will provide more flower in late summer. Tidy up dead foliage in Autumn leaving a small tuft to protect the base overwinter. Cut to the base in late spring before new growth appears.
